Nissan has been spotted testing a new affordable Nissan Gravite 7 Seater MPV on Indian roads, signalling progress toward its next product launch for the domestic market. The heavily camouflaged test vehicle is believed to be the upcoming Nissan Gravite, a model the Japanese automaker has previously acknowledged as part of its India roadmap.
The sighting comes at a time when Nissan is preparing multiple new launches for India after a period of subdued sales. The Nissan Gravite 7 Seater is expected to play a key role in expanding the brand’s presence in the mass-market family vehicle segment.

Design Linked to Renault Triber Platform

Based on what is visible from the spy shots, the test mule shares its basic proportions with the Renault Triber, indicating that it will be built on the same platform. Despite the camouflage, several distinct styling elements can be made out. These include slim LED daytime running lights, a grille with polygonal design details, and a C-shaped front bumper treatment.
Nissan branding and Gravite badging have also been spotted on the test vehicle, helping confirm its identity. While the overall silhouette remains MPV-like, Nissan appears to be giving the Gravite a slightly sharper front-end design compared to its Renault sibling.
Expected Cabin Layout and Features
Interior details of the Gravite have not yet been revealed through spy images. However, given its shared architecture, the cabin layout is expected to be similar to the Triber’s, with practical seating and flexible space usage as key priorities.
The feature list is expected to include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, USB ports, cruise control, and removable third-row seats. On the safety front, the model is expected to offer six airbags as standard, along with electronic stability control, hill-start assist, traction control, rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Powertrain Options

Under the bonnet, the Nissan Gravite 7 Seater is expected to use the same 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine seen on the Triber. This unit produces around 70 bhp and 96 Nm of torque and is likely to be offered with both a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT gearbox.
A CNG option for this engine is already available through dealer-level conversions on the Triber, and a similar setup could be offered for the Gravite as well.
Launch Timeline and Pricing
According to current plans, Nissan is targeting an India launch for the Nissan Gravite 7 Seater by early 2026. Pricing is expected to be positioned close to the Triber, with on-road prices estimated to range between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 12 lakh, depending on the variant.
If launched as expected, the Nissan Gravite 7 Seater could give Indian buyers another budget-friendly seven-seat option in a segment that prioritises space, affordability, and everyday usability.
