Hyundai Motor India has expanded the second-generation Venue lineup with the introduction of a new Hyundai Venue HX5+ variant. Priced at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the HX5+ is positioned between the HX5 and HX6 trims and is offered exclusively with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The new variant arrives less than two months after the updated Venue range went on sale, indicating Hyundai’s effort to fine-tune the lineup by adding feature-rich options at competitive price points.

Hyundai Venue HX5+ Positioning and Pricing

The Venue HX5+ costs around ₹85,000 more than the HX5 and approximately ₹33,000 less than the HX6 with the same powertrain. By bridging this price gap, Hyundai is targeting buyers who want a more premium look and added convenience features without stepping up to the higher trims.

In a related update, Hyundai has also added an adjustable driver’s seat to the lower HX4 variant, improving comfort across more of the range.

Hyundai Venue HX5+ Exterior Updates

On the outside, the HX5+ borrows select design elements from the higher HX6 trim to enhance visual appeal. It gets quad-beam LED headlamps and roof rails, both previously limited to pricier variants. Hyundai has also added a rear wiper and washer, a practical inclusion that improves visibility in wet conditions.

Other exterior elements, such as the 15-inch steel wheels with covers, faux skid plates, and body-coloured door handles and ORVMs, are carried over from the HX5. However, the HX5+ misses out on the black-painted ORVMs and roof spoiler that remain exclusive to the HX6.

Interior and Convenience Features

Inside, the HX5+ focuses on added everyday convenience. Key additions include a rear sunshade, wireless phone charging, and a centre armrest with integrated storage. The driver’s power window now gets a one-touch up/down function, improving ease of use.

These updates make the HX5+ more appealing for buyers who value comfort and practicality, especially those who spend a lot of time in city traffic or use the car for family duties.

Hyundai Venue HX5+ Engine and Mileage

Powering the HX5+ is Hyundai’s familiar 1.2-litre four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine, producing 83hp and around 115Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and delivers an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 18.05 kmpl. This powertrain is widely used across the Venue range and is known for its refinement and ease of maintenance.

What It Means for Buyers

With the Hyundai Venue HX5+, Hyundai offers a more balanced mid-variant that combines premium lighting and practical interior upgrades without a steep jump in price. Buyers considering the HX5 now have a more feature-rich alternative, while those eyeing the HX6 may reassess whether the additional features justify the higher cost.

All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
