Yamaha R15 Price Cut 2026: Yamaha Motor India has reduced prices across its R15 range by Rs 5,000, making the popular fully-faired motorcycle more accessible to buyers. Following the revision, the Yamaha R15 lineup now starts at Rs 1.51 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.91 lakh for the top-spec R15M ‘Icon Performance’ variant (all prices ex-showroom).
The latest reduction comes months after the implementation of GST 2.0 in September 2025, which lowered tax rates on motorcycles up to 350cc. Yamaha had already passed on significant benefits at the time, and this fresh cut further sharpens the R15’s pricing in the competitive 150–200cc sportbike segment.

Revised Prices Across Variants

With the update, the base R15S is now priced at Rs 1.51 lakh. This variant is based on the older R15 V3 platform and features a single-piece seat, catering to riders who prefer a simpler setup or regular commuting comfort.
The newer R15 V4 range sits about Rs 15,000 above the R15S. It brings notable upgrades, including the latest R7-inspired styling, a mono-projector LED headlamp, upside-down front forks, a split-seat layout and a wider selection of colour options.
At the top of the range is the R15M, which costs Rs 10,000 more than the V4. This variant adds premium features such as a colour TFT instrument cluster, a standard quickshifter and distinctive Yamaha Racing liveries. The R15M ‘Icon Performance’ edition, priced at Rs 1.91 lakh, commands another Rs 10,000 premium purely for its exclusive colour scheme.
No Mechanical Changes
Despite the revised pricing, the Yamaha R15 remains mechanically unchanged. It continues to be powered by the familiar 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.4hp and 14.2Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and is well regarded for its balance of performance, refinement and fuel efficiency.
What This Means for Buyers

The additional Rs 5,000 price cut strengthens the R15’s value proposition, especially for younger riders and first-time sportbike buyers. With prices now starting at Rs 1.51 lakh, the R15 undercuts several rivals while continuing to offer features such as dual-channel ABS, traction control and Bluetooth connectivity on higher variants.
For existing owners, there are no changes to specifications or equipment, but prospective buyers benefit from a more attractive entry price without any compromises.
Closing Note- Yamaha R15 Price Cut 2026
The Yamaha R15 Price Cut 2026 positions the Yamaha R15 range more competitively in a segment that has seen steady price corrections after GST changes. With unchanged hardware and a wider price spread between variants, the R15 continues to cater to a broad range of sportbike buyers in India.
