Kawasaki Z650 and Z650RS Discounts: Kawasaki India has extended its year-end offers to its middleweight naked motorcycle range, announcing fresh discounts on the Z650 and the Z650RS. The benefits, which apply only to MY25-manufactured units, are valid until January 31, giving buyers a limited window to pick up these motorcycles at reduced prices.

This move follows similar discount schemes recently introduced on Kawasaki’s Ninja and Versys models, indicating a broader push by the brand to boost retail activity at the start of the year.

The standard Kawasaki Z650 sees the larger reduction, with its price cut by Rs 27,000. As a result, the motorcycle now starts at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing it just under the Rs 7 lakh mark. The Z650RS, which carries a neo-retro design, receives a Rs 20,000 price drop, reducing its ex-showroom price to Rs 7.63 lakh.

Both motorcycles were previously positioned at a slightly higher price point, so these revisions make them more accessible to buyers looking at the middleweight naked segment. However, the discounts apply only to MY25 stock, and availability will depend on what individual dealers have in inventory.

What Buyers Should Know

Kawasaki has clarified that the discounts are available only until January 31, and only on select production-year units. Interested buyers are advised to check with authorised Kawasaki dealerships to confirm variant availability and the final on-road pricing, which will also depend on local taxes and insurance.

For riders who were already considering the Z650 or Z650RS, the limited-time reduction may help tip the balance, especially since there are few direct alternatives in this engine class at a similar price.

Same Engine, Different Personalities

Despite their different styling, the Z650 and Z650RS share the same mechanical package. Both are powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that is compliant with India’s E20 fuel requirements. This motor produces 68hp and 64Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch.

One technical highlight of this engine is its 180-degree firing order, which is less common in modern twin-cylinder motorcycles. Many rivals now use a 270-degree crank to mimic the feel and sound of a V-twin, but Kawasaki has stayed with a smoother, more traditional configuration for the Z650 range.

Segment Positioning

At their revised prices, the Z650 and Z650RS sit in a relatively unique space in the Indian market. Most twin-cylinder, sub-100hp motorcycles have moved to larger 750cc to 800cc platforms and come at a higher cost. This means Kawasaki’s 650cc twins remain among the more affordable options for riders looking for a big-bike experience without stepping into the higher-capacity and higher-priced category.

The Z650 offers a modern naked streetfighter design, while the Z650RS targets buyers who prefer classic styling with contemporary engineering.

A Short Window to Save

With discounts valid only until the end of January, the current offer gives buyers a brief opportunity to purchase either of Kawasaki’s 650cc naked motorcycles at a lower entry price. Whether the scheme will be extended or revised after January 31 remains to be seen, but for now, MY25 units of the Z650 and Z650RS are available at their lowest prices yet in India.

Disclaimer: Kawasaki Z650 and Z650RS Discounts mentioned in this article apply only to select MY25-manufactured Kawasaki Z650 and Z650RS units and are valid until January 31, subject to dealer stock availability. Ex-showroom prices may vary by city.
