The BMW iX facelift is expected to be the first of the two launches, with prices likely to start around Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom). The updated iX brings subtle design revisions alongside major upgrades to its powertrain lineup.

Globally, the facelifted iX is offered in three variants — iX 45, iX 60 and iX M70 — all featuring dual-motor all-wheel drive and larger battery packs. The iX 45 produces 402hp and 700Nm using a 94.8kWh battery, while the iX 60 steps up to 536hp and 765Nm, paired with a 109.1kWh battery. At the top of the range, the performance-focused iX M70 delivers 659hp and up to 1,100Nm from a 108.9kWh battery.

Claimed WLTP ranges stand at 602km for the iX 45, 701km for the iX 60, and 600km for the iX M70.

Visually, the facelift introduces revised headlamps, a redesigned grille, updated bumpers and new alloy wheel designs. Inside, BMW has added a new three-spoke steering wheel and M Multi-function seats, aimed at improving comfort and lateral support.

For Indian buyers, the updated iX is expected to offer better performance and range without moving away from its luxury-focused positioning.

BMW’s second major EV launch for 2026 will be the i5 Long Wheelbase (LWB), expected to be priced around Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom). Importantly, the i5 LWB will be assembled in Chennai, making it BMW’s first all-electric sedan to be built in India.

Based on the China-spec model, the i5 LWB will sit above the petrol-powered 530Li and below the high-performance i5 M60 in BMW’s lineup. India is expected to receive the i5 eDrive40L, which uses a rear-mounted electric motor producing 340hp and 430Nm, paired with a 97kWh battery.

In China, the model claims a CLTC range of up to 713km, although real-world range figures in Indian conditions are expected to be lower. BMW is reportedly making India-specific changes, including increased ground clearance, to better suit local road conditions.

BMW Upcoming Launches in India 2026- What This Means

With the iX facelift and the locally assembled i5 LWB, BMW appears to be doubling down on premium electric mobility in India. The strategy mirrors the success of the BMW i7, which reportedly accounts for around half of all 7 Series sales in the country.

For buyers, these launches signal a wider choice of high-end electric vehicles with improved range, performance and localisation. For the broader market, BMW’s continued investment suggests growing confidence in India’s premium EV adoption.

As electric vehicle infrastructure and customer acceptance continue to improve, BMW Upcoming Launches in India 2026, EV’s are likely to strengthen its position in India’s luxury electric segment, while setting the stage for further localisation and expansion in the years ahead.
