Kia GT Versions: Kia has taken a significant step in expanding its performance-oriented electric vehicle portfolio by revealing Kia GT Versions of the EV3, EV4 and EV5 at the Brussels Motor Show. These new variants join the brand’s existing EV6 GT and EV9 GT, underlining Kia’s intention to build a full-fledged high-performance sub-brand in the electric space rather than treating GT as a one-off badge.
The new models bring more power, all-wheel drive layouts and a range of chassis and suspension upgrades designed to make them more engaging to drive than their standard counterparts.

EV3 GT and EV4 GT: Compact EVs with a Performance Edge

The Kia EV3 GT and EV4 GT are built on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP electric platform, the same architecture that underpins several of the group’s EVs. Both models use an 81.2kWh battery pack paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.
In this configuration, the front motor produces 197hp while the rear motor contributes 95hp, resulting in a combined output of 292hp. Kia claims a 0–100kph time of 5.7 seconds for the EV3 GT and a slightly quicker 5.6 seconds for the EV4 GT, which puts them in the same performance bracket as many petrol-powered hot hatches and compact SUVs.
Beyond straight-line speed, Kia has focused heavily on driving dynamics. Both GT models get bespoke chassis tuning, electronically adjustable dampers and improved cornering stability. They also ride on 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance tyres.
Borrowing from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, Kia has added a virtual gearshift system that simulates stepped gear changes to give drivers a more familiar and engaging driving feel. A dedicated GT drive mode further sharpens steering response, suspension firmness and power delivery.
Inside, the EV3 GT and EV4 GT adopt sportier bucket seats, a three-spoke steering wheel similar to the EV6 GT and neon-green accent details to visually separate them from regular variants.
EV5 GT: More Power and Smarter Suspension

The EV5 GT sits higher up the size ladder and gets its own set of performance upgrades. It uses a dual-motor setup producing 298hp, which is a significant increase over the standard EV5. Kia claims a 0–100kph sprint of 6.2 seconds, impressive for a mid-size electric SUV.
While Kia has not officially confirmed the battery capacity, the EV5 GT is expected to use the 88.1kWh battery found in the regular EV5. The headline technology here is a new adaptive suspension system with a “road preview” function. This uses sensors to read the road ahead and adjusts the dampers in advance to better deal with bumps and curves, improving both comfort and control.
The EV5 GT also gets sportier seats, neon-green interior accents, ambient lighting and a GT-specific three-spoke steering wheel, giving it a more performance-focused cabin than the standard model.
Production Plans and Kia’s GT Strategy
Production of the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with sales planned initially for European markets. Speaking to Autocar UK, Kia Europe’s planning boss Alex Papapetropolous said the GT badge represents a broader philosophy rather than just extra horsepower. According to him, Kia wants GT models to offer a “360-degree” performance experience through hardware, tuning and everyday usability.
What This Means for India

At present, Kia has not confirmed any plans to bring these GT models to India. However, the company has already filed multiple EV nameplate trademarks in the country, suggesting longer-term interest in expanding its electric portfolio here. Kia is also expected to introduce the Syros EV in India in the second quarter of 2026, which will mark its next major step in the local EV market.
Conclusion- Kia GT Versions
With the Kia GT Versions- EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT, Kia is clearly signalling that performance will play a growing role in its electric future. While these models are currently aimed at Europe, they highlight how quickly electric vehicles are evolving beyond efficiency and range into genuine driver-focused machines. For Indian buyers, this trend could eventually translate into more exciting, performance-oriented EV options as the market matures.
Disclaimer: The Kia EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT have been revealed for international markets. Specifications, features and availability for India have not been confirmed and may differ if these models are introduced locally.
